Cayenne pepper (which contains capsaicin) is very useful in fighting colds. I use a combo of cayenne pepper, cider vinegar and molasses when I get a cold. There is also a product called Umcka. Most whole foods and nutrition stores carry it. It is a blessing! It really works.
